I dont get what you are on about when you talk about artificial helpers?

If you turn the aids off (pro mode) there are no assists apart from ABS, EDF and TC on the cars that have them in real life. (and they can still be turned off if you want to once in car) CTR+T for TC CTR+A for ABS

There is absolutely no throttle, brake or steering assists in pro mode unless you're driving with keys, and who would be silly enough to do that in a sim?

Quote from The Very End :
(it actually tok me solid two mins before I even managed to get car moving since I did not understand I had to push the two pedals at same time ^^).

Is it only me?

Hmm, i just got in the car, depressed the clutch, put it in gear, gave it some gas, released clutch and drove away. You know..just like driving a car

Ohh, well done Tristan. Thanks

So many incorrect points made in your post i don't know where to begin.

Meh, hopefully someone else can put you straight on a lot of it. I'm going to drive instead.

Atm. the game is too bright when driving a tin-top car. Can't see anything out the window but snow
Tried to fiddle around in the menues to see where it might be hiding, but canot find it.

Or the best would be to disable the bloom effect, is that HDR?

You can change the levels of the HDR on the fly with Page Up/ Page Down keys

I think i read they are looking to tweak things with the HDR in tintops at some point.

Quote from sinbad :The KTM is superb, I totally agree with you on that, wonderfully controllable and just great fun.
You have a Driving Force GT too, I believe, what are your wheel settings?

I'm not very clued up on all this clipping stuff, and I'm not exactly sure what it is, but from what I gather it's basically when the wheel can no longer add the force the game is sending to it because it's already at the maximum, so it feels heavy but dead. I've been playing with the forces and using the pedal widget with the red FFB load bar but I can't get it feeling solid without at least some clipping.

I have to add that I have absolutely no regrets purchasing this at this early stage. If we as sim fans aren't prepared to back a developer like KS when they reach this stage then we're not doing ourselves any favours. Besides there are so few car/racing sims that you'd be mad to pass one like this up. It really has the makings of something fantastic, too.

Yup, i have a DFGT. It's set up as it is for all my sims. In the logitech settings its 100 FFB, everything else on 0. Allow game to adjust settings is checked.

In game I'm running between 45-55 FFB gain, depending on the car. Currently no damping or filter. When looking at the FFB meter in game i try and have things set up so it just clips at the very highest moments of load. A little bit of clipping in those moments is fine, you just don't want it clipping every time a relatively small amount of load is on the wheel, that kills all the subtlety and you wont feel the tyres scrubbing very well or the wheel lightening as you understeer etc.

With low end wheels likee ours you're never going to get a realistic amount of weight in the wheel and be able to feel the subtle stuff as well, so its always a compromise when it comes to FFB. Many people feel the wheel is too light when using the settings i use, but I'd rather feel everything the car is telling me when cornering than having a workout with no subtlety in the feel. You can always use a bit of damping in game to reduce the lightness a bit, but i personally find damping just reduces the feeling, so i don't use it.

You can guarantee people complaining that the FFB in AC is like a heavy spring are simply running far too high FFB for their wheels. It will always feel like shit if your saturating the FFB on low end wheels.

Now I'm happy with my settings i think AC has the best FFB of any sim.

Quote from tristancliffe :Apart from the premature clipping regardless of strength, and being a bit woolly near straight ahead, I find the FFB quite communicative. As good as LFS and nKP, and miles better than the last time I bothered spending a months salary on iRacing. There haven't been many sims where you feel the roots of a slide starting to build up, and be able to judge whether corrective action is needed or if it'll sort itself out first.

Hit the nail on the head there fella.

Just sent ages lapping the KTM at Silverstone. couldn't stop driving. Give the car a more lively setup and it's an absolute pleasure to drive. If all Kunos ever did was add cars and tracks to this i'd still be a happy man just lapping the cars.

(still cant wait to do some multiplayer with good mates though :razz

Quote from TFalke55 :I suggest something better: Support the club you fell in love with.

Well said Sir! No one told me at 6 years old that i had to support my local club. I watched Liverpools Euro Cup final in '77 and was hooked. Fell in love there and then. Once you have your team there's no going back!

Quote from AlienT. :Very good value compared to iracing for sure and I know Moose will have a smile on his face

Hehe, I've not actually got it yet as i'm a bit skint, but i got a few hours on it yesterday at my brothers and within my first 1/2 Lap i was grinning like an idiot

As expected from a Kunos product it just feels so natural to drive. Easily the best physics of any sim so far for me. And to think..it's only the start!

Delighted for the guys at KS. I hope it's a real success for them.

Quote from cargame.nl :Releasing a DX10.0 sim and a day later a 10.1 one is also "lame" but I was talking about his forum name.

He didn't release a dx10.0 sim. He released a dx10.1 sim that luckily some dx10.0 users were able to use.

Who gives a toss about forum names?

Phahahaha .. I'm sorry I needed to laugh out loud here. And he is calling himself Lord? Lord Kunos?

How retarded is that...

Why is it retarded? They clearly stated a DX10.1 card was minimum specs. Just because it might have been working with lesser cards previously doesn't mean they have to keep support cards that they have always said are incompatible.

Whilst i have sympathy for those who now need to upgrade their cards, it's always a huge gamble buying software that the developers have stated clearly is incompatible with their hardware. Kunos post was perfectly reasonable.

Quote from Fordman :So you are paying £30 to be Beta Tester's and end up with the finished product for free....is that what you are saying?

I think of it this way... Pre order now and get the game cheaper, and get the beta as a bonus. Just like i did with Football Manager 2014. Win/Win situation.

Yes

OK so you pay £30 now, for a non multiplayer, non AI racing sim. £30 for a hot lapping sim...until the final release, when you get the rest for free.

You pay £30 for a beta, and pay no more when the full game is released. If that means only hot lapping for the time being, then that's fine by me. I'd much rather pay less now and have stuff to dick about with whilst waiting for the full release. I really don't see the problem.

That's rich considering you've displayed a similar level of intelligence in iRacing threads here. Pot, meet kettle.

Having said that, Jshort is a complete arse, both here and on the iRacing forums. Nothing but a massive troll.

The pair of you should get a room. You'd get on great.
