I dont get what you are on about when you talk about artificial helpers?
If you turn the aids off (pro mode) there are no assists apart from ABS, EDF and TC on the cars that have them in real life. (and they can still be turned off if you want to once in car) CTR+T for TC CTR+A for ABS
There is absolutely no throttle, brake or steering assists in pro mode unless you're driving with keys, and who would be silly enough to do that in a sim?
Yup, i have a DFGT. It's set up as it is for all my sims. In the logitech settings its 100 FFB, everything else on 0. Allow game to adjust settings is checked.
In game I'm running between 45-55 FFB gain, depending on the car. Currently no damping or filter. When looking at the FFB meter in game i try and have things set up so it just clips at the very highest moments of load. A little bit of clipping in those moments is fine, you just don't want it clipping every time a relatively small amount of load is on the wheel, that kills all the subtlety and you wont feel the tyres scrubbing very well or the wheel lightening as you understeer etc.
With low end wheels likee ours you're never going to get a realistic amount of weight in the wheel and be able to feel the subtle stuff as well, so its always a compromise when it comes to FFB. Many people feel the wheel is too light when using the settings i use, but I'd rather feel everything the car is telling me when cornering than having a workout with no subtlety in the feel. You can always use a bit of damping in game to reduce the lightness a bit, but i personally find damping just reduces the feeling, so i don't use it.
You can guarantee people complaining that the FFB in AC is like a heavy spring are simply running far too high FFB for their wheels. It will always feel like shit if your saturating the FFB on low end wheels.
Now I'm happy with my settings i think AC has the best FFB of any sim.
Just sent ages lapping the KTM at Silverstone. couldn't stop driving. Give the car a more lively setup and it's an absolute pleasure to drive. If all Kunos ever did was add cars and tracks to this i'd still be a happy man just lapping the cars.
(still cant wait to do some multiplayer with good mates though :razz
Well said Sir! No one told me at 6 years old that i had to support my local club. I watched Liverpools Euro Cup final in '77 and was hooked. Fell in love there and then. Once you have your team there's no going back!
Hehe, I've not actually got it yet as i'm a bit skint, but i got a few hours on it yesterday at my brothers and within my first 1/2 Lap i was grinning like an idiot
As expected from a Kunos product it just feels so natural to drive. Easily the best physics of any sim so far for me. And to think..it's only the start!
Delighted for the guys at KS. I hope it's a real success for them.
Why is it retarded? They clearly stated a DX10.1 card was minimum specs. Just because it might have been working with lesser cards previously doesn't mean they have to keep support cards that they have always said are incompatible.
Whilst i have sympathy for those who now need to upgrade their cards, it's always a huge gamble buying software that the developers have stated clearly is incompatible with their hardware. Kunos post was perfectly reasonable.
I think of it this way... Pre order now and get the game cheaper, and get the beta as a bonus. Just like i did with Football Manager 2014. Win/Win situation.
You pay £30 for a beta, and pay no more when the full game is released. If that means only hot lapping for the time being, then that's fine by me. I'd much rather pay less now and have stuff to dick about with whilst waiting for the full release. I really don't see the problem.
